The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on September 28, 2026, issued a clarification on Continuation of Supernumerary Seats for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWG) under Clause 2.9 of Approval Process Handbook 2024-27.
The following has been stated: -
•AICTE has clarified that the CIWG provision under Clause 2.9 of APH 2024-27 will continue to apply to eligible candidates, subject to prescribed eligibility and documentary requirements.
•Amendments made for Academic Year 2026-27 are reverted to the earlier position, maintaining the status quo for CIWG admissions.
•AICTE-approved institutions and universities must comply with the clarified provision while processing CIWG category admissions.
